The Back Door to Europe

I received a book from Marsha Dow titled 'the back door of Europe' which challenged me to turn down streets not traveled by tourists to find a true cultural experience and connect with the local culture. I seriously didn't think that it would happen so soon. 4 of us were waiting to go to the club and decided to hit a back ally tapas bar. When we went in the this hall sized bar with 9 people in it we received quite a few stares with our broken Spanish. Just as we were about to leave a guy came over and asked were we were from. My friend responds, Memphis where Elvis is from. Local: I LOVE ELVIS, HOUND DOGG BABBY. After another drink we were brought to a back room the size of a hotel room where they were having a going away party for their friend. I was challenged to continue singing American songs such as Bye Bye Miss American Pie. Simply an Amazing time.
