Day 4: Florence Bike Tour

Monday: Bike Tour
Monday several of us signed up for a bike tour of the Tuscany country side. We met at 10, loaded a van and headed out of Florence to the bike meeting point. We loaded up our bikes and headed out. Like every day we experienced in Italy it was heavily over cast. We rode a kilometer to a famous winery and had a 30 minute tour of the process and facility that also acted as a 6 star hotel. We were seated in a grand dinning room and sampled their wines for a bit before heading out again. When we stepped out it was beautiful and sunny changing the moods of everyone. We rode along the rode in a large spread out-group. It felt exceptional to be on a bike again. It has most certainly been one of my most missed activities. We rode on every few minutes passing through a small town with one or two intersections until we reached at large section where we stopped for lunch. We had a three-course meal ending with Tiramisu, Mmmmm. We finished we a long ride around back to the meeting point. Italy’s landscape is great green rolling hills and we stopped several times to suck in the scenery. We finished up relaxing on the rooftop again overlooking the most ridiculous Duomo in Florence.
