Geneva. Kick yourself expensive, but those swiss..... they know there stuff

As we strolled the streets of Geneva from our great hotel location we were dazzled by the beautiful watch and clothing stores. I knew things were going to be expensive, but we needed a quick snack in McDonalds and was dumbfounded to find that the cost for a meal was 14 franks! The Swiss Frank is about 90% of the dollar so its pretty darn close. From that point on i knew that this trip was going to hurt. The reason for such as drastic increase in price is that the household income is significantly higher. The minimum wage is 18 franks. Most likely due to the trickle down effect, the cost of living is much higher.

Well with that out of the way we made a drastic attempt to find a way to ski on Saturday. Very unpropaired we all planned to ski in pee coats and jeans. Well the next morning the buses filled. Some of our friends made it on but Marc and I just a few people back did not. We asked an info guy and in just a few minutes we made our way to the only place we could get to that would offer us some skiing. Little did we no we ended up in what had to have been the smallest town in switzerland. It had all we needed though. A small mountain, a bar and a bakery. For dirt cheap even in franks we were able to snowboard this cute little mountain and have a blast. Couple warm ups in the local bar with a lovely bartender Marc and I were able to make the absolute most of the day given the cards we were dealt.
