I wish I could update the blog daily while i was traveling because it is hard to think back and remember the fine details that make the trip worth while.
Friday morning 7:00am we wake up (mistake 1) and are on our way. Our flight was at 9:05. As an inexperienced traveler that sounded like an abundance of time since the airport was 25 min away. Little did we know the train to the airport does not run as frequently as the metro so there we find ourselves waiting till 7:42 for the train. The train is painfully slow and we screech our way in at 8:10 and take a full on dash to the check in desk. Since i don't have my printer here Marc and I did not check in or have our boarding passes (mistake 2&3). As we wait impatiently we find out check in has been closed out on our flight 15 minutes ago. With a cold sweat Marc decides to walk to the first class line and go, "mister, i know our flight has been closed but is there any way we could please please get our boarding passes" :( After a call to a manager he gives us our passes, we fly through the joke of security they have here and catch our gate with 10 min before departure. At least we got our exercise! With a laugh it was great to say that we should not have been on that flight but certainly glad we were.
Recap:
1. Know the bus/train schedule
2. Be Early
3. PRINT YOUR BOARDING PASS
4. Check in online
