Paris, Merci Merci..... Thats about all I know

On Thursday instead of bringing my school bag to class I brought my 50L travel pack. My class ended at 12:30 and to make it safely to the airport at 315 I had to hustle to the train station and catch the 1:09 train that I made with just 1 minute to spare and smoothly made it through the airport and comfortably on to my flight. The flight was completely empty and Willie and I both had our own rows.

In just a short hour we landed in Paris as the sun was setting, took the 45 minute train from CDG paris airport to our hotel metro stop. Finding our hotel was slightly harder than we thought since the road it was on was not on our map, and when we passed the road 3 times we had no idea because depending on what side you access the street on it has different names. Our hotel, Villa De Maine, was in the southern region of the city, a very residential area that was safe and comfortable. The hotel was a warm, quaint hotel with a very accommodating and welcoming staff. We were only there to sleep but we really enjoyed our stay.

Once we were settled Willie and I met with the rest of our Paris 09 group consisting of Katie, Irena, Michel, her friend Matt and our local French speaking tour guide John. At around 8pm we made our first adventure into the city for dinner. We in the center of the city just to the side of the river at a wonderful French restaurant. Thanks to John, who is fluent in French, we were able to properly order a wonderful meal consisting of salmon and soup appetizers, duck and potato meal, delightful desert sampler complimented with a strong red wine. The meal was first of many phenomenal eats.
